Born in Marin County and raised in the vibrant culture of San Francisco, her journey into the arts and education began at City College of San Francisco, where she studied Modern Arts, Broadcasting, Writing, and the History of Jazz. She later earned a B.A. in Teledramatic Arts & Technology (no Cinema Studies) from California State University, Monterey Bay, with a minor in International Management and Entrepreneurship. While at CSUMB, she explored theater, filmmaking, producing a two-hour live radio show and writing, directing, and producing two short films - early expressions of a lifelong creative voice.
With over 20 years in Academic Advising at the Academy of Art University, she has built a career rooted in mentorship, access, and community. Her contributions to Dogpatch neighborhood have been recognized with two Certificates of Honor from San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 2015 and 2016, honoring her commitment to social connection and service.
A photographer and self-taught abstract painter, she draws inspiration from everyday movement, light, and human energy. She is currently writing a short story while continuing to expand her creative practice.
An Avid cyclist and runner, she embraces movement as both discipline and freedom. In June 2025, she completed her fourth and final AIDS/LifeCycle -- a 545 mile, seven-day ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles supporting those living with HIV/AIDS. With nearly 30 years connected to the cause, she has raised over $12,539, marking a powerful closing chapter defined by legacy and love.
Her passion for music spans all genres, reflected in over 140,000 minutes of listening in 2024 alone. She is currently developing a podcast on YouTube, centered on real-life stories soulful reflection, and meaningful conversations around creativity, movement, community, and connection.
In public service, she served as a San Francisco Human Rights Commissioner (2020-2023) and was appointed by Mayor London Breed in 2023 to the Office of Community Investment & Infrastructure (OCII), where she served as Vice-Chair until December 2025.
She is now developing plans for her own art gallery in Dogpatch and more -- an extension of her lifelong commitment to equity, community, and creative expression.
